Our client, VLM Airlines, is a Belgian Airline headquartered at Antwerp International Airport. They are looking for an Aircraft Engineer “CAMO” (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization) to join the engineering team and to support the expansion and diversification of the VLM Airlines fleet.

Aircraft Engineer CAMO

Suitable for junior engineers (bachelor or master) as well as people with relevant experience // CAMO -> Generalist engineering approach to assure long term airplane airworthiness // Maintenance and reliability optimization, implementation of new technologies, operational support, training, project management

Function

As a (junior) aircraft engineer CAMO, you will join the Antwerp-based VLM Airlines technical / engineering team and you will receive guidance and support from the engineering manager and the technical director. You will also complete several aircraft specific courses.

In this position your duties and responsibilities are related to the “Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization” (or CAMO) concerning one or more aircraft types. One of your major projects will be the CAMO build up of an Airbus aircraft type.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • You will be assigned on several CAMO topics (systems, avionics, maintenance programs…) but not limited to;
  • Informing and assisting the Engineering manager in new and upcoming technologies;
  • You will further develop the long term maintenance optimization program;
  • Set-up and maintain maintenance tasks;
  • You will set up adequate reliability control and reporting in order to improve the reliability of the fleet and to reduce costs;
  • Managing of projects in your area of responsibility and follow up of modifications;
  • Cost calculations for projects assigned to you;
  • Review, process and administer all OEM data and consequentially perform the implementation where applicable;
  • You will process in due time Air Safety reports, or any other Ops requests;
  • You will assist other departments in trouble shooting and by providing required information;
  • Occasionally provide training on subjects of your expertise;
  • Classification, transparency and traceability of all relevant data are fully under your control.
Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in industrial sciences, preferably aerospace / aircraft related (e.g. bachelor or ingenieur elektromechanica luchtvaarttechnologie) and/or relevant experience in aircraft engineering and/or CAMO;
  • Fluent in English and Dutch;
  • Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for synthesis;
  • Strong reporting and administrative skills;
  • Open minded, sharing and communicative teamplayer;
  • Focus on results and on continuous improvement.
