Function

The Crosby Engineer is given the time and the resources to get to know the products and the business of Crosby (training and on the job learning). Once completed, he or she has a strong impact on the delivery of the best technical support on an organizational level. He strives to continuously improve the technical processes and procedures by operational analysis, training etc. He has cross matrix responsibilities in different departments in the company on a technical level e.g. link with quality, sales, product management, general management, customer service. He/her trains internal teams, external (sales) people and customers to improve product knowledge and the Crosby experience.

By means of good technical & product support towards distributors and key end-users you will help to enhance Crosby’s market share and profitable revenue.

Internally you will provide high level technical support for specific customer related issues. You provide regular technical training programs to develop skills and to make your colleagues into better professionals.

Externally this role will support the outdoor sales team in all technical enquiries and/or product/market training programs to Crosby’s distributors and key end-users. You will execute training seminars for our end-users across the region.

Some specific job tasks of the Engineer:

  • Provide technical support to the internal and external sales teams;
  • Investigate and support all technical customer requirements beyond the product/technical knowledge of our sales teams;
  • Take initiative toward other departments to optimize product / quality issues / revenue / support; etc.
  • Taking ownership of customer issues reported;
  • Determine product disposition and various technical issues relating to a product;
  • Implement best practices in developing technical solutions;
  • Document technical knowledge and best practices in the form of notes and manuals;
  • Assess the impact of deviation on product quality in collaboration with the quality department;
  • Prioritize and manage several open technical issues at one time;
  • Make drawings and manipulate through the CAD system to make changes for customers;
  • Determine training content according to objectives in good collaboration with EMEA and USA based training department.
Skills and Qualifications
  • The Crosby Engineer has a Bachelor or Master Degree or equivalent by experience, e.g in mechanics, electro mechanics, lifting, materials engineering etc;
  • Ideally 1-5 years of experience, in a technical or industrial market/business environment;
  • Experience in writing technical documents;
  • Practical knowledge of CAD software (2D and 3D);
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, knowledge of another language is a plus.
  • Customer-oriented and communicative;
  • Innovative, improvement- and result-oriented;
  • Analytical, flexible, autonomous and dynamic team player;
  • Willingness to travel (25%). Mostly short trips between mondays and fridays. You can define the travelling schedule yourself.
