Our client is a division of a leading international company in the field of sustainable mobility. The company has a global industrial and R&D network, employing 2500 engineers working on transformative innovation projects. They’re looking for a C++ Developer (CAD Software).

The New Energies division focuses on R&D and manufacturing of fuel cell technology and hydrogen gas storage systems for car, bus, truck and train transport.

The core development, engineering and testing activities in the field of composite pressure vessels – for hydrogen storage – are moving from Zonhoven to a brand new facility in Genk (Belgium), suitable for accomodating the rapidly growing team.

C++ Developer (CAD Software)

Function

As C++ Developer you will focus on improving code and expanding the functionalities of the proprietary and industry leading ComposicaD filament winding software. This commercially available simulation software has a key role in designing lightweight yet strong vessels for compressed gas storage. The software also generates the motion program for multi-axis production equipment, such as industrial robotics or specific winding machinery.

Some of your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Design, code and debug the application(s), mainly in C++.
  • Develop new functionalities, such as integrated FEA capability.
  • Ensure performance tuning, improvement, usability and automation of code.
  • Ensure software testing and quality assurance.
  • Support, maintain and document software functionality.
  • Communicate with customers and applying input for debugging purposes.
Skills and Qualifications

  • You have an information technology or engineering degree.
  • You show experience in developing commercially available software.
  • Knowledge of programming languages, especially C++
  • Experience with version control systems.
  • You have good communication skills and you work smoothly in a team.
  • Very good knowledge of English (spoken and written) is required.
