Function

The Electrical Engineer Solar Energy’s goal is to successfully develop and deliver high quality electrical, electronic and control systems of solar photovoltaic systems (on-grid and off-grid) within budget and on time.

The responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer are mainly within the electrical, electronic and control domains as well as quality assurance, among them:

  • Contribute to research, development and innovation activities;
  • Generate technical documentation such as technical specifications, project reports, procedures, diagrams, drawings, certification files and manuals;
  • Create project proposals, develop new ideas and concepts and motivate improvements;
  • Design, dimension, select and secure electrical, electronic and control equipment related to solar PV systems;
  • Ensure high quality results according to defined scope, budget and schedule, using scientific and engineering knowledge as well as industry best practices, norms and standards;
  • Contribute to quality assurance;
  • Establish and maintain excellent communications with stakeholders (internal: colleagues and partners, and external: clients, suppliers, authorities etc.);
  • Contribute to project development activities such as: on site assessment; on site supervision of implementation / commissioning of solar PV systems;
  • Belgian HQ is located in the Limburg province.
Skills and Qualifications

  • Educational background: electrical engineer/ electronics engineer / control engineer / energy engineer;
  • Ideally 3 to 5 years of professional experience – highly capable junior engineers are welcome to apply; experience in the solar photovoltaic industry is an obvious asset;
  • Analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills, critical thinking;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively work within multi-disciplinary project teams;
  • Committed engineer who values honesty and reliability;
  • Interest in other sustainable energy systems (wind turbines);
  • Ability to travel, ~25% of the time (mostly short trips);
  • Good communication skills in the English and/or French language.
