Since 2004, our client I-care is the international leader in Predictive Maintenance and Reliability Engineering. They are looking to hire a Software Developer (Python / PHP) for their Leuven based IT / R&D team. With headquarters in Belgium and over 15 subsidiaries in Europe, the US and Asia, their team of 300+ engineers can service customers anywhere in the world. They offer a wide range of high added value products, training and services to predict, advice and accompany its industrial customers in optimizing maintenance plans, asset reliability and production availability at controlled costs by reducing the risk of unplanned shutdowns. Therefore they use their Predictive Maintenance expertise (Vibration, Oil, Infrared, Ultrasound analysis, etc) as well as Reliability Engineering techniques, from criticality and failure mode analysis to spare parts optimization through planning and scheduling and a lot more. I-care’s R&D department developed the wireless sensors Wi-Care and the data portal I-See, cutting edge technology for Maintenance 4.0. Their continuous growth is resulting in the further expansion of the team with a Software Developer (PHP/Python).

Software Developer (Python / PHP)   

Development of existing tools and creation of new web-based platform from scratch // Job location: Leuven area // Extended salary package incl company car // International company with Belgian roots // Industry 4.0    

Function
  • As Software Developer you develop innovative web applications to support I-care’s central management systems.
  • You help with the further development of the web-based platform that they use for various purposes (planning, scheduling, time tracking, invoicing, …).
  • You are involved in all extension projects of the application, making you the internal technology owner.
  • You are jointly responsible for the entire process (from analysis, development to testing and implementation).
  • You ensure that the development environment is structured and professional.
  • You support the system administration and R&D department if necessary (max. 30%).
Skills and Qualifications
  • You have at least a higher IT degree and can demonstrate a first relevant work experience in software development. For young graduates, this can be an internship or a final project.
  • You have a solid basic knowledge of PHP and/or Python and relevant database technologies.
  • Knowledge of PHP Frameworks such as Symphony or Laravel or Django.
  • A relevant experience as a back-end developer, webmaster or a similar function is a plus.
  • Your experience with projects using Git, GitLab, unit testing and / or continuous integration is also a plus.
  • Experience in identifying, developing and implementing improvement proposals.
  • A strong interest in technology, engineering and innovative applications in the industry.
  • A healthy dose of communication skills and a preference to work with like-minded colleagues.
  • Excellent knowledge of English, both orally and in writing.
